As I studied in Sydney as a graduate student, I made a great effort to support myself. Neither did I have money nor time to care about my appearance. My roommates even asked me one day in the dormitory why I wore the same clothes every day. I didn’t tell them that I only had three identical shirts and three identical pairs of trousers. With my savings running out, I acknowledgedthat I was worried and anxious. One day, I was preparing for an interview for a part-time job with pretty high salaries when my loyal friends, my roommates offered to dress me up. I didn’t want to botheranyone and pretended that everything was fine. They insisted, however. After the makeover, I changed from head to toe. I saw myself for the first time as a handsome man, which greatly boosted my confidence. As a result, I made it in the interview and got the job. Words couldn’t express my heartfelt thanks to my roommates and I decided to repay them with more concern for them. On that day, I realised the outward beauty could be an expression of our personalities, helping us make a good impression on others.
