“Congratulations, you have a new baby boy!” my childdevelopment teacher said as she handed over the doll.
Last year in my high school childdevelopment class, each student was asked to __1__ the “ThinkItOver” baby for a night to get a taste of being parents.
After I took the “baby” to my __2__, I changed him into some really __3__ clothes because my friends and I were __4__ for dinner that night.
It was Friday night, so there were a lot of people __5__ to get a table. When I walked into that __6__ entryway (通道), I got some very __7__ looks and quite a few raised eyebrows (眉毛). My friends also __8__ the stares, so we decided to make a __9__ out of the whole situation. I stood in the corner __10__ to sing the “baby” to sleep. Every once in a while my friends would __11__ in the blanket (毯子) and say, “Oh, how lovely!” I could not help but __12__. However, although it was funny to us, some of the people did not think it was so __13__. These people were giving me rude looks because they thought I was a teenage mom. Others just smiled at me sympathetically (同情地) and felt __14__ for me because I was only a child with a __15__.
My friends and I __16__ how people judged that I was the mother of the baby so __17__. We believed that we would probably do the same __18__ we saw a teenage girl coming in with a child.
I learned a lot through my __19__ with the “ThinkItOver” baby. It opened my eyes to the judgments people make about others. We should all be __20__ to judge others, and realize that some things are not as they seem.
