The Tibetan Antelope
藏羚羊,被称为“可可西里的骄傲”。但是你了解藏羚羊的其他情况吗?就让我们通过下文去了解吧!
The Tibetan antelope-Latin scientific name:Pantholops hodgsoni; English name:the Tibetan antelope or Chiru; Chinese alternative name:the Tibetan antelope and the long angle sheep; transliteration from the Tibetan language:Zu.It is similar to the Mongolian gazelle in appearance, but it is much bigger.A grown male Tibetan antelope usually weighs 35~40 kg and female 24~28 kg.The particularity of the Tibetan antelope is that there is a little bag in every nostril. Its role is to help breathe on air-thin highland.Adult males' horns are usually 50~60 centimetres in length, but females haven't any horns.Antelopes' lifespan is not very long.Normally, they can only survive for eight years. They like living in large groups on plateaus with the altitudes of 4,300~5,100 metres and are good at running.
But according to the recent research and report, the Tibetan antelope is becoming extinct and luckily because many brave people full of responsibility(责任感) have taken action to join in the protection of it.We also hope to see the grand scene-a large number of antelopes running on the plateau again.
