Escape New York is powered by the New York Cycle club, a 100% volunteer organization in the service of the New York Cycling community. And it is open to riders at all levels.
The ride offers four routes:
Bergen Spin, 25 miles. New to cycling? Is this your first time to ride outside of the Hudson Greenway or Central Park? Expand your horizons as you walk through the leafy Bergen County.
Piermont Pleasures, 50 miles. Do you prefer a “touring” approach to cycling? Enjoy the scenery on our half-century trip to the historic village of Piermont on the Hudson.
Century Challenge, 100 miles. Are you an experienced rider looking to conquer new places? Climb nearly 6,000 feet while completing a full century trip through beautiful towns and countryside that takes you into and around Harriman State Park.
The Dirty Spin, 60 miles. For the first time in 24 years, Escape New York offers riders to escape the city on dirt roads. The route goes from Sakura Park to Nyack Beach, offering 2,800 feet of height and a mix of paved and hard-packed roads. The dirt route offers a different kind of journey. We recommend using a road bike with 28mm or wider tires on this route and we ask riders to be comfortable riding on dirt roads and be able to guide on their own.
Plus: All riders are to leave Manhattan via the George Washington Bridge and to explore the beauty and history just across the Hudson River.
